British newspaper The Telegraph reports that a rare snow owl was caught by a camera that monitors traffic in Montreal, Canada, on January 3. Several photos were shared on the social network Twitter by the Minister of Transport, Robert Poetin, who wrote: “A beautiful snow owl caught on surveillance cameras on the A40 highway in western Montreal.” Most likely, she was looking for food and was attracted to the highway because, on its edge, grass grows high and rodents like to hide, McGill Observatory director, Barbare Frei told CBC.
The snow owl is protected by law in Canada and is the symbol of the Quebec region. Owls are symbolic of higher wisdom.
